Farklı Diş Macunlarının Antimikrobiyal Etkinliğinin İncelenmesi

Amaç: Bu in-vitro çalışmanın amacı farklı diş macunlarının Streptococcus mutans, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis ve Candida albicans’a karşı antimikrobiyal etkinliğini incelemektir. Yöntem: Çalışmada farklı içeriğe sahip sekiz diş macunu (Karex, ROCS, ROCS Sensitive, Colgate Total, Colgate Sensitive Pro-relief, İpana Pro-Expert, İpana 3D White Luxe Perfection ve İpana 3D White Luxe Beyazlık Hızlandırıcı) agar difüzyon yöntemiyle test edildi. 48 saatlik inkübasyon sonrası oluşan inhibisyon zonları ölçüldü. Candida albicans için 72 saatlik inkübasyon uygulandı. Verilerin istatistiksel analizi ANOVA ve Posthoc Tukey testi ile gerçekleştirildi (p<0.05). Bulgular: Test edilen diş macunlarının tümü diş çürüğü açısından önemli olan Streptococcus mutans ve Lactobacillus acidophilus’a karşı antimikrobiyal etki gösterdi. Karex’in Enterococcus faecalis ve Candida albicans’a karşı inhibisyon zonu oluşturmadığı saptandı. ROCS Sensitive Enterococcus faecalis’e karşı antimikrobiyal etkinlik göstermedi. Streptococcus mutans, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis ve Candida albicans’a karşıetkili diş macununun flor, sodyum lauril sülfat ve triklosan içerikli Colgate Total olduğu saptandı (p˂0.05). Lactobacillus acidophilus içinyüksek inhibisyon zonu İpana 3D White Luxe Beyazlık Hızlandırıcı diş macununda gözlendi (p˂0.05). Sonuç: Bu çalışmada farklı içerik ve aktif bileşenlere sahip diş macunlarının incelenen patojenlere karşı farklı derecelerde antimikrobiyal etkilerinin olduğu belirlendi. Flor ve/veya sodyum lauril sülfat içerikli diş macunlarının, bu etken maddeleri içermeyenlere oranla daha geniş antimikrobiyal etki alanına sahip olduğu görülmektedir.

Review of the Antimicrobial Effect of Different Toothbrushes

The aim of this in-vitro study is to study the antimicrobial effectiveness of different toothpaste against Streptococcus mutans, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis and Candida albicans. Method: Eight toothpaste with different content (Karex, ROCS, ROCS Sensitive, Colgate Total, Colgate Sensitive Pro-relief, Ipana Pro-Expert, Ipana 3D White Luxe Perfection and Ipana 3D White Luxe Whitening Accelerator) were tested by the agar diffusion method. The inhibition zones formed after 48 hours of incubation were measured. A 72 hour incubation was applied for Candida albicans. The statistical analysis of the data was carried out with the ANOVA and Posthoc Tukey tests (p<0.05). Results: All of the tested toothpaste showed an antimicrobial effect against Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus acidophilus, which are important for tooth fractures. It was found that Karex does not form an inhibition zone against Enterococcus faecalis and Candida albicans. ROCS Sensitive Enterococcus faecalis has not shown antimicrobial effect. Streptococcus mutans, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, and Candida albicans were found to be anti-inflammatory toothpaste Colgate Total with flora, sodium lauryl sulfate and triclosan (p. Lactobacillus acidophilus inHigh inhibition zone was observed in the 3D White Luxe Whitening Accelerator toothpaste (July0.05). This study found that toothpaste with different content and active ingredients had an antimicrobial effect at different degrees against the patogenes studied. Toothpaste with fluor and/or sodium lauryl sulfate has a wider antimicrobial effect than those that do not contain these active substances.
