Abstract:

In the last quarter of the twentieth century, the economic globalization of football has accelerated. In this process, which can be called the neoliberal era of football, the commercial aspect of football has increased, the football economy has grown, international investments have increased, and clubs have become one-on-one brand. One of the most important elements of this neoliberal era was the removal of the obstacles to labour mobility. The removal of these barriers, including the Bosman Decisions, has made the mobility of qualified labour in the process of neoliberal globalization controversial. The aim of this study is to explain the changes in the football economy during the neoliberal period and to show how liberalization in the labour market affects the international football movement. To show changes in the football movement, the male national team team has been examined. According to the data, after the release, the outstanding footballers turned to England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France, the five major leagues of Europe. This mobility makes the neoliberal globalization and unification relationship also a topic of discussion in the football economy.
