Abstract:

The concept of public sphere, which enters the field of many disciplines such as politics, philosophy, sociology, communication studies, has played a central role in the construction of democratic societies, explained by various theories depending on the differentiation of social life. The public space formed in the context of the historical variation of the public-private dicotomy has also become influenced by technological advances. In the work of the public field, which has been addressed by many thinkers from antiquity to today, the opinions of Jürgen Habermas are an important place of excitement. Newsmas addressed the historical transformation of concepts such as public, public, public, public space, and in this context, he brought out a normative theory. The Habermas, which considers publicity as a communication area and a critical environment, has built a new model of public space based on communication action. The comments on the public sphere that shapes the public concept are among the names outlined in the political and communication discussions that assess the role of the public sphere in the historical context, the use of public mind and the structural solutions that occur in the public sphere. In the study, the theoretically and practically discussed the transformations in the historic process of the public space, the normative view and the ideal of the public space presented by Habermas was discussed.
