Bu çalışmanın amacı Ankara Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesinde 1. Ve 5. Sınıfta öğrenim gören öğrencilerin beslenme alışkanlığının, ağız diş sağlığı tutum ve davranışlarının ve DMFT indeksinin değerlendirilmesidir.Bu çalışmaya 100 1.sınıf, 100 5.sınıf öğrencisi olarak toplam 200 öğrenci katıldı. Öğrencilere ağız diş sağlığı tutum ve davranışlarını ve beslenme alışkanlıklarını belirlemek için 15 sorudan oluşan bir anket uygulandı. Ayrıca öğrencilerin ağız-diş muayeneleri yapıldı ve DMFT indeksi hesaplandı. DMFT indeksi 1.sınıfta öğrenim gören öğrencilerde 3.46, 5.sınıfta öğrenim gören öğrencilerde ise 4.92 olarak bulundu. 1.sınıf öğrencileriyle kıyaslandığında 5.sınıf öğrencilerinde DMFT indeksi istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek bulundu. DMFT indeksi açısından kız ve erkek öğrenciler arasında fark bulunamadı. 5.sınıf öğrencilerinde diş hekimine kontrole gitme sıklığında, diş fırçalama sayısında ve süresinde, diş ipi ve diğer ağız bakım ürünlerinin kullanımında artış gözlendi. Ayrıca sigara içen ve içemeyenler arasında da bir fark bulunamadı. Bu çalışmanın sonucuna göre diş hekimliği eğitiminin kişilerin ağız diş sağlığını iyi yönde etkilediği görülmüştür.
The aim of this study is at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Ankara 1. and 5. It is an assessment of the nutritional habits of students studying in the classroom, oral and dental health attitudes and behaviors, and the DMFT index.In this study, a total of 200 students participated as 100 first class, 100 fifth class students. A survey consisting of 15 questions was applied to students to determine their oral and dental health attitudes and behaviors and eating habits. Students were also performed oral-dental examinations and the DMFT index was calculated. The DMFT index was 3.46, and 4.92 in the students who studied in the first class. Compared to students of 1st grade, the DMFT index was statistically significantly high in students of 5th grade. There was no difference between girls and boys in the DMFT index. Students of 5th grade observed an increase in the frequency of going to the dentist's check, the number and time of toothbrushing, the use of toothbrush and other oral care products. There is no difference between those who smoke and those who don’t drink. According to this study, dental training has been shown to have a positive impact on the oral and dental health of people.
