Abstract:

Introduction and Purpose: The aim of this study is to radiographically examine the conditions of burial, angle positions and driving levels of the third molar teeth. Method and Requirements: 553 patients of age range 18-72 were included in the study. Third molar teeth's burial status was studied according to the work Venta and his friends did. The angle positions of the teeth were assessed according to the Winter classification, while the driving levels were assessed according to the Archer classification. In 553 patients, 886 of them were top (49.46) and 905 lower (50.53) and 1791 of them were third molar teeth. In 1791, 1076 of the teeth (60.07%) were kept, 462 (25,79) were buried and 253 (14,12%) were half buried. The most observed angle positions in the third molar teeth are vertical (60,97%), distoangular (19,76%), mezioangular (13,23%), horizontal (5,58) and bukkolingual (0,44%). The third most frequently observed stretch level in molar teeth is level A (65.71) while the least observed level C (15.68%). The third molar tooth drawing, which is one of the core builders of oral and maxillophasial surgery, is the most frequent operation by the chest surgeons. Therefore, it is important to determine the conditions of burial, positions and driving levels of these teeth. Thus, it is possible to properly plan the treatment of the third molar teeth and to minimize the complications that may occur during the drawing of these teeth.
