Abstract:

The importance of drugs in the health and social system makes their reasonable use compulsory. The study aimed at measuring the level of awareness of the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences about the reasonable use of drugs and healthy life skills, determining the relationship between the reasonable use of drugs and healthy life skills. The study was carried out by 344 students at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Bandırma Onyedi September. The study found that students had a good level of reasonable drug use and healthy living skills, the rate of chronic illness was 7.3%, while 9.6 percent used regular medications and 1.7 percent used calmers. The most commonly used type of medication is pain-cutting with a rate of 57.3%. With regard to the relationship between reasonable drug use and healthy life skills and their low dimensions, a meaningful relationship between reasonable drug use and the importance given to health and health priority has been established. According to the study, people’s healthy life skills can be developed and the reasonable use of medications can also be improved. In all sections of society, research should be carried out to internalize the importance of reasonable drug use and healthy living skills in the individual, society, health and social policies.
