Abstract:

Yunus Emre is a Turkish folk poet who had an important role in the formation of the written language based on the Oghuz dialect in Anatolia with his poems. This written language was later named as Old Anatolian Turkish in general terms. Yunus Emre is a poet who lived in the Seljuk Period, the first period of Old Anatolian Turkish. Therefore, his poems are accepted as one of the first written sources of Oghuz dialect in Anatolia. In this respect, many evaluations of the poems in his Divan have been made in terms of phonetic, morphology, syntax and semantic. All of this revealed important information for the first written period of Oghuz dialect. In this study, postpositions within the subject of word classes, which is one of the research topics of grammar, were examined in terms of their features in Yunus Emre’s Divan. The reason why postpositions were chosen as the subject of this study is that they have an important place in grammatical meanings in Turkish. In the studies carried out so far, it has been observed that the postpositions in Yunus Emre’s Divan have not been studied in detail in terms of their grammatical meanings. Identifying the postpositions of Oghuz dialect in the 13-14th century and making morphological and meaning evaluations in Yunus Emre's poems has provided a framework of postpositions in Turkish. Thus, the situation of Oghuz dialect in the mentioned centuries was tried to be revealed in terms of postpositions in Yunus Emre’s Divan.
