Geçmişten günümüze ilettikleri izlerle sürekliliği sağlayan anıtsal yapılar taşıdıkları sosyal, kültürel, dini, ekonomik, tarihsel değerler ve sembolik anlamlar nedeniyle özenle korunarak gelecek nesillere aktarılmayı hak etmektedir. Türkiye’nin zengin kültürel mirasının önemli bir kolunu oluşturan Selçuklu Dönemi Anıtsal Yapıları, güçlü yer ve bağlam duygusu barındıran, kentsel algı ve kent kimliğinin belirleyicisi olan ve hafıza noktaları oluşturarak röper niteliği taşıyan konumlarıyla korunması gereken önemli yapı gruplarındandır. Türkiye anıtsal mimari miras açısından çok zengin bir konumda olmakla birlikte, bu yapıların özgün değerleri ile korunarak yaşatılması ve sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanması konusu yeterince gündeme gelmemektedir. Yapıların süreç içinde yapılan eklemeler ve onarımlar sonrasında kazandığı tüm tarihsel katmanlar ile birlikte bir bütün olarak korunması gerekmektedir. Çalışmada Kayseri’de Selçuklu Dönemi’ne ait ilk külliye olan Hunat Hatun Külliyesi’nin en önemli yapılarından olan Hunat Hatun Cami’nin Osmanlı’dan günümüze farklı dönemlerde geçirdiği onarım süreçleri ele alınacaktır. Bu kapsamda, ilk olarak külliyenin tarih içindeki yapım süreci, gelişim ve değişimi, mimari özellikleri kısaca anlatılmaktadır. Caminin koruma ve onarım süreç değerlendirmesi amacıyla detaylı kaynak taraması yapılmış, tespit edilen veriler ışığında, yapının geçirdiği bakım ve onarım çalışmaları kronolojik sırayla aktarılmıştır. Anıtsal yapıların onarım ve restorasyonu konusunda ülkedeki koruma anlayışı ve bu doğrultuda gerçekleştirilen koruma faaliyetleri tartışılmakta, koruma alanında farklı dönemlerde yaşanılan önemli gelişmelerin Hunat Hatun Cami’nin değişim ve dönüşümüne etkisi tespit edilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Bir anlamda onarım tarihi araştırması olarak değerlendirilebilecek çalışmanın sonuç bölümünde ise yapının geçirdiği koruma, onarım uygulamaları ve müdahaleler sonrasında güncel durumdaki özgünlük değeri sorgulanacak, benzer nitelikteki kültürel mirasımız için koruma yaklaşımı önerisi getirilmeye çalışılacaktır.
The monumental structures that provide continuity with the traces they transmit from the past to the present deserve to be transferred to future generations due to their social, cultural, religious, economic, historical values and symbolic meanings. The Selçuklu Period Monumental Buildings, which form an important arm of the rich cultural heritage of Turkey, is one of the important structural groups that have a strong place and context sense, which are the determinant of the city perception and city identity and which must be protected with their positions that carry the roper character by creating memory points. Although Turkey is in a very rich position in terms of monumental architectural heritage, the issue of preserving and ensuring its sustainability with its original values is not enough. The buildings must be preserved as a whole along with all the historical layers they gain after the process-made additions and repairs. The study will discuss the repairs processes that Hunat Hatun Cami, one of the most important structures of the Hunat Hatun, which belongs to the Selçuklu Period in Kayseri, in different periods from Ottoman to today. In this context, first of all, the construction process, development and change in the history of the cult, the architectural characteristics are briefly described. For the purpose of assessing the protection and repair process of the mosque, a detailed resource scan was made, in light of the identified data, the maintenance and repair work that the structure was carried out was transmitted in chronological order. The concept of protection in the country on the repair and restoration of monumental structures and the protection activities carried out in this direction are being discussed, the significant developments in the field of protection in different periods are being tried to identify the impact on the change and transformation of Hunat Hatun Cami. In a sense, the results of the work that can be considered as a repair history research, will be questioned after the protection, repair practices and interventions that the structure has undergone, the originality value in the current situation will be questioned, the cultural heritage of similar quality will be suggested.
Monumental structures that achieve continuity through traces from the past to the present should be carefully preserved and handed down to future generations because of their social, cultural, religious, economic, and historical values and symbolic meanings. The monumental buildings of the Seljuk Period, which constitute a significant part of Turkey's rich cultural heritage, are important landmarks that deserve to be preserved for their strong sense of place and context, as determinants of urban perception and urban identity, and as memorials. Although Turkey has an abundant monumental architectural heritage, the issue of preserving these structures with their original values and ensuring their sustainability is not the main topic of conversation often enough. The buildings should be preserved as a whole, together with all the historical layers gained after the additions and repairs. In this study, the restoration processes of Hunat Hatun Mosque, an important structure of Hunat Hatun Complex, which is the first complex in the Seljuk Period in Kayseri, are discussed based on different periods from the Ottoman period to the present. In this context, first, the construction, development and change, and architectural features of the Complex are briefly explained. To evaluate the preservation and repair process of the mosque, a detailed literature review was made, and based on the data obtained, the maintenance and repair works of the building were noted chronologically. The understanding of preservation in Turkey regarding the repair and restoration of monumental structures, as well as the preservation activities are discussed, and the effect of important developments in the field of preservation on the change and transformation of Hunat Hatun Mosque is determined. In the conclusion section, which can be considered research on the history of restoration, the originality value of the building after the preservation, restoration practices and interventions is questioned. This study discussing a conservation approach to be implemented for similar cultural assets is expected to be a guide for further studies.
