Özet:

This experimental study was designed to evaluate the effect of the Standard Nursing Care Applied to the children who received Total Parenteral Nutrition TPN on the quality of the care. 18 children of which 9 belong to case group and the others belong to the control group, who fed by Total Parenteral Nutrition TPN in the intensive care unit of the pediatric surgery department of Ege University Hospital between 15thNovember 2000 and 25th November 2001 were the sample of study. Three tools have been used for collecting the data: These were the Demographic form, “Standard Nursery Care Form” that designed by the researcher and “Evaluation Scale of the Result Criteria” to determine how much reached to the result criteria. In the latter scale, 7 different nursing diagnosis and result criteria that show that these diagnosis have been resolved were present: 1.Probability of developing infection, 2.Complication Risk, 3.Physical movement limitation, 4.Insufficiency in individual/Self care, 5.Disruption probability of membrane continuity, 6.Cope with the anxiety of child and family, 7.Knowledge insufficiency. Kendall coefficient of Concordance W correlation test was applied to determine the content validity of the Evaluation Scale of the Result Criteria. The case group was received standard nursing care while the control group was received routine service care. The results were evaluated by the number and percent ratios, Chi-square, Fisher and Student-t tests. According to the results, there were any demographic differences except the mean age between the groups. The complication rates were not seen to be statistically meaningful between groups Fisher test, p=0.576 >0.05 . When all of the nursing care criteria evaluated, the sixth and seventh nursing diagnosis have been detected to be different between the groups t=-2.15, p=0.047
