Okul bahçeleri, çocukların oyun oynadıkları, eğlendikleri, zihinsel olarak rahatladıkları, sosyal, fiziksel ve zihinsel olarak geliştikleri önemli oyun alanlarıdır. Çocukların çok yönlü sağlıklı gelişebilmesi için okul bahçelerindeki oyun alanlarının yeterli olması gerekmektedir. Buradan hareketle bu çalışmada ilkokul bahçelerindeki oyun alanlarının mevcut durumlarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, 2021-2022 eğitim-öğretim yılında Adana ilinin 4 merkez ilçesinde yer alan 40 ilkokulda yürütülmüştür. Gözlem yapılacak okulların belirlenmesinde kota örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Belirlenen okullar üzerinde nitel araştırmalarda sıklıkla kullanılan gözlem tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda veri toplama aracı olarak “İlkokul Dış Mekân (Bahçe Oyun Alanı) Gözlem Formu” geliştirilmiş ve veriler bu form kullanılarak araştırmacılar tarafından toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarında, okul bahçesindeki öğrenci başına düşen oyun alanının yetersiz olduğu belirlenmiştir. Okul bahçelerinde en fazla seksek oyunun yer aldığı görülmüştür. Salıncak, kaydırak ve tahterevallinin ise ilkokullarda okul bünyelerinde bulunan anasınıflarına ait olduğu, anasınıfı öğrencilerinin kullandığı tespit edilmiştir. Çizgi oyunlarının ise çoğu okulda renklerinin solduğu görülmüştür. Futbol kale demirleri, basketbol potası ve voleybol demirlerinin de bazı okullarda boyanmasının uygun olacağı belirlenmiştir. Basketbol potalarının öğrenci gelişimine göre yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sportif alanların çoğunun okulda tören ve diğer oyun alanlarıyla birlikte kullanıldığı görülmüştür. İlkokul bahçelerinin oyun alanlarının genellikle temiz, sert zemin kullanılan (beton, taş, asfalt vb.) alanlar olduğu ve doğal alanlara yeterli düzeyde yer verilmediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
School gardens are important play areas where children play, have fun, mentally relax, social, physical and mental development. Playing areas in school gardens must be sufficient to ensure that children are able to develop healthy and diversified. From here, the aim of this study is to explore the current conditions of the playgrounds in the primary school gardens. The research was carried out in 40 primary schools located in the 4 central districts of the Adana province in the 2021-2022 educational year. The method is used to identify the schools to be observed. The observation technique is used frequently in qualitative research on the specified schools. In this context, the data collection tool was developed as "Primary School Outdoor (Garden Game Area) Observation Form" and the data was collected by researchers using this form. The research finds that the playground per student in the school garden is insufficient. The most sexy games are played in school gardens. It has been found that the sliding, sliding and tahtervallians belong to their motherhood in the primary school bodies, and that the motherhood of the students is used. Most of the games are colored in the school. Football castle iron, basketball pot and volleyball iron are also determined to be suitable for painting in some schools. The basketball pot was found to be high according to the student's development. Most of the sports areas have been used in the school along with the ceremonies and other playgrounds. The playgrounds of primary school gardens are usually clean, hard ground used (beton, stone, asphalt, etc.) It has been found that there are areas and there is no sufficient space for the natural areas.
