Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin Matematik Öz Yeterlik Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Bu çalışma 2022 ortaokul (5.-8. sınıf) öğrencisinin matematik öz yeterlik düzeylerinin bazı değişkenler açısından incelenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Elde edilen sonuçlar öğrencilerin matematik öz yeterlik düzeylerinin kişisel deneyimler, dolaylı yaşantılar ve sosyal iknalar kapsamında orta düzeyde, fizyolojik durumlara yönelik ise düşük düzeyde olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Cinsiyet değişkenine göre öğrencilerin matematik öz yeterlik düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı görülmektedir. Sınıf düzeyi değişkenine göre öğrencilerin kişisel deneyimler, dolaylı yaşantılar, sosyal iknalar ve fizyolojik durumlarına ilişkin matematik öz yeterlik düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu ve bu farklılıkların alt sınıfların lehine olduğu belirlenmiştir. Matematik başarı notu ile anne ve baba eğitim durumu değişkenine göre öğrencilerin matematik öz yeterlik düzeyleri arasında anlamlı farklılık olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Examining Middle School Students’ Mathematics Self-efficacy Levels

Abstract:

Purpose of this study is to examine 2022 middle school students (5-8th grade) mathematics self-efficacy levels regarding some variables. Results of the study revealed that students’ mathematics self-efficacy levels were moderate regarding mastery experience, vicarious experience, and social persuasions. Students’ mathematics self-efficacy level regarding physiological state was low. In addition, there was no significant difference students’ mathematics self-efficacy levels (mastery experience, vicarious experience, social persuasions, and physiological state) regarding gender. There was a significant difference between students’ mathematics self-efficacy regarding grade level. The difference was in favor of lower-level grades. Regarding mathematics achievement and educational status of parents (mother and father) there was a significant difference between students’ mathematics self-efficacy levels.
