In this paper, pump motor which can operate under water with the low voltage level generated by the panel has been designed as Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) because SynRM has high efficiency and superior performance. Because SynRM does not have magnet and winding on its rotor, manufacture costs and durable of SynRM rotor will be very more superior compared to other motors. Also, these motors almost have constant efficiency and torque independently from the speed. Because SynRM is a synchronous motor, they need an AC drive with rotor-position information. The motor drive has been designed MPPT algorithm to obtain continuously maximum speed. Thus, a solar-pump system having more efficiency, more compact and user friendly have been obtained.
