Abstract:

With the use of technology in education, students can progress at their own learning pace, get instant feedback, and thus increase the effectiveness of education. This study aimed to analyze the articles published in the Dergipark database between 2017 and 2021 on using educational technology in mathematics education in Turkey to reveal the general trend. The descriptive content analysis method was used in the study. As a result of the literature review, with the keywords determined in line with the purpose of the study, 111 articles were found. The study used the article classification form developed by the researchers as a data collection tool. The content analysis method was used to analyze the data. In this framework, the articles were examined according to the years of publication, technologies used, dependent and independent variables, methods used, sample groups and sample sizes, data collection tools, data analysis methods, and results of the articles. Among the studies whose distribution according to years was analyzed, it was observed that most articles were published in 2020. Among the instructional technologies, it was seen that most of the articles used web-based learning technologies. The findings also show that the qualitative research method was preferred more in the studies. The most frequently used dependent variable in studies is an achievement, and the independent variable is mathematics software. The most selected sample size was between 20 and 39, and it was seen that it was mostly studied with prospective teachers. It was found that interviews as data collection tools and content analysis as data analysis methods were mostly preferred in these studies. Based on the results, it was concluded that instructional technology positively impacts mathematics education.
