Bu makalenin konusunu, Yunanistan’ın Midilli Adası’nda bulunan iki konutu bezeyen resimler oluşturmaktadır. Söz konusu resimler, 19. yüzyılın ilk yarısında, Batı Anadolu’da görülen bir grup duvar resmiyle konu ve üslup açısından büyük benzerlikler taşımaktadır. Resimler, Petra’daki Vareltzidenas Evi ile Molova’daki Giannakos Evi’nde bulunmaktadır. Her iki evde de, birbirine benzer görünümlere sahip dörder deniz manzarası ile birer hayali İstanbul panoraması resimlenmiştir. Yapılardaki kalıplaşmış bina formlarının yanı sıra; renk tonlamalarıyla verilmiş deniz ve gökyüzü, denizde dolaşan gemiler ve gökyüzünde uçuşan kuşlar, yine bu yapılardaki manzara kompozisyonlarını andıracak kadar ortak özellikler taşır. Her iki yapıda görülen İstanbul panoramaları da, Batı Anadolu’da üç kara parçasıyla gösterilmiş anıtsal İstanbul panoramalarıyla benzer karakterdedir. Petra Vareltzidenas Evi’nde bu resimlerden başka, deniz kenarında tek yapı betimlemeleri, çeşitli natürmortlar, çiçekler, perde ve sütun motifleri ile figürlü temalara da yer verilmiştir. Bu tür resimlerin Anadolu’daki örneklerinin ortak özelliklerinden biri de figürsüz olarak yapılmış olmalarıdır. Her bir kompozisyon, farklı bir masal ya da olay anlatıyor izlenimi verir. Bu iki evde ulunan resimler, 19. yüzyılın başlarından itibaren, İzmir, Manisa ve çevresinde rastlanan ve özellikle II. Mahmut Dönemi resim programında görülen bazı karakteristik özellikleri bünyesinde toplayan resim örneklerinin Ege Adaları’ndaki temsilcileri olarak dikkat çeker. Hızlı çalışılmış ve profesyonel sanatçıların elinden çıktığı izlenimini veren resimlerin benzeşen özellikleri, Ege kıyılarında, hinterlandında ve adalarda, aynı atölyeye bağlı, yüzer-gezer bir sanatçı grubunun varlığının da kanıtıdır.
The subject of this article is the pictures of two houses located on the Midilli Island of Greece. These paintings, in the first half of the 19th century, are very similar to a group of wall paintings seen in Western Anatolia in terms of subject and style. The pictures are in the Giannakos House in Molova with the Vareltzidenas House in Petra. In both houses, a fantasy Istanbul panorama is painted with four sea views with similar views. In addition to the shaped building shapes in the structures; the sea and heavens given with colour shapes, the ships riding in the sea and the birds flying in the sky, again carry the same common features as to resemble the scenic compositions in these structures. The Istanbul panoramas seen in both structures are similar to the monumental Istanbul panoramas displayed with three black parts in Western Anadolu. In Petra Vareltzidenas House, in addition to these paintings, one-structure portraits on the shore of the sea have also been placed on figurative themes with various nature motifs, flowers, curtains and column motifs. One of the common features of such images in the examples of Anatolia is that they are made in the form of unfigured. Each composition gives the impression that it tells a different story or event. The paintings of these two houses, from the beginning of the 19th century, were found in Izmir, Manisa and its surroundings, and especially II. Mahmut Period draws attention to some of the characteristics gathered within the painting program as representatives of painting samples in the Egean Islands. The similar characteristics of the paintings that give the impression that fast-worked and professional artists get out of hand are also proof of the existence of a group of artists swimming and traveling on the Egean coast, in the suburbs and on the islands, connected to the same workshop.
