Abstract:

The fact that it is known who the Turkish folk music works produced today belong to thanks to the technological facilities and media tools that have become widespread contradicts some definitions made for THM. In particular, it is seen that the conditions such as "owner should not be known" and "anonymous" in the THM work criteria specified by some researchers give rise to new names such as “composition folk song” in the THM works whose producer is certain. The research is aimed at conducting due diligence and exhibits a descriptive characteristic. During the research process, digital and written sources were scanned and information about the subject was tried to be obtained. As a result of the research, it was found that there are discussions about the current state of "non-anonymous" THM works. It has been observed that some researchers advocate the requirement of "anonymity" in THM works, however, those who advocate the requirement of "anonymity" compile "non-anonymous" works and include them in the repertoire. As a result of this, it was seen that "anonymous" and "non-anonymous" works were included in the TRT THM Repertoire, but confusion continued for works that were not in the TRT THM Repertoire and whose owner was known.
