Özet:

In this study, the morphological body characteristics of hair goats bred in Isparta province, such as withers height, back height, rump height, chest width and body length, were investigated. The animal material of the study consisted of 45 hair goats in 3 farms in total, in lowland conditions, high pasture and highland conditions in the center of Isparta. In the examinations, it was found that the measurements of the males were longer than the measurements of the females in terms of withers, back and rump height, chest circumference and body length, respectively. While the difference was found to be significant in terms of withers height, back height, rump height, and body length (p<0.05), it was determined that the difference was not significant in terms of chest circumference. It is thought that the reason for this is due to many environmental factors such as the higher altitude in highland goat farming, the reaching the plant flora needed for the growth and development characteristics of the animals as they go to higher regions, and many environmental factors such as pressure and oxygen level. It has been determined that the increase in altitude provides an advantage in terms of goat breeding in the province where the research was conducted. It is thought that the obtained information will contribute to the literature on breeding and breeding programs.
