Abstract:

Objective: Bipolar disorder (BB) is a very significant health problem and causes serious social and economic consequences. The main objective of the treatment is to effectively plan the protective supply of identified phenomena and to keep the patient’s quality of life at the best level. Our study aimed at determining whether there is a difference in the level of response given to the functionality and protective supply in patients monitored with the diagnosis of BB, depending on their personality characteristics. Tools and Methods: The study included 80 patients with BB diagnosed who were followed and volunteered to participate in the treatment unit. All cases have been applied by the Bipolar Disorder Functionality Scale (BMI), the Young Mani Rating Scale (MMI), the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDD), the Eysenck Personality Survey-Revised Short Form-(EKA-GGK) and the Protecting Support Assessment Scale (KSDÖ). Results: 57 of the patients involved in the study were women (71.3%), 23 (28.7%) and men. It was found that there was a weak but meaningful negative relationship between the psychotic personality size and the protective responses. When the other dimensions of personality were studied, there was no meaningful relationship between them. The result: More work is needed on the availability of the Protecting Storage Assessment Scale. It is an important goal to determine the most suitable protective supply for a person in bipolar disorder as early as possible. New studies are needed in order to determine the exact location and size of the determining role of personality characteristics in this sense.
