Abstract:

It is explained that SARS-CoV-2 virus has been originated from bats in an animal market. However, there are certain ideas claiming that the virus is founded in virology laboratory in the Chinese city of Wuhan then accidentally laboratory workers get infected, after then laboratory workers spread the virus to the public. Even if studies show that SARS-CoV-2 is not a laboratory-produced virus, it is quite worrying for humanity that these claims are technically possible. Although there are some guidelines on biosafety and biosecurity standards for the virus laboratories working on high-risk biological materials, it is necessary to have serious and effective international mechanisms, fair, independent and objective organizations and binding international agreements for either conducting an inspection of these laboratories scientifically and ethically or stoping their work if the need arises.
