Özet:

Abstract Considered as Turkey's first mass tourism destination, Alanya has faced periodic crises since the 1980s, but today it maintains its importance in terms of tourism and meets approximately one-third of the number of tourists coming to Antalya. The rapid development of tourism in Alanya has attracted the attention of researchers from different disciplines such as marketing, sociology, architecture and city planning, and scientific studies have been produced on these subjects. Present study aimed to investigate the development of national and international studies and postgraduate thesis on Alanya tourism with bibliometric analysis. In this context, Web of Science, Google Academic databases and Higher Education Council National Thesis Center were searched and a total of 118 publications and 95 postgraduate thesis were examined. The studies were examined in terms of their bibliometric characteristics such as “genre”, “year”, “the journal published”, “the most productive author and institution”, and “author productivity”. The study subjects were evaluated with the content analysis method and the focused sub-areas were revealed. It is hoped that the current study will provide a holistic perspective for researchers who want to work in Alanya in the future, since there is no other study examining tourism researches conducted in Alanya, which is a mature destination.
