Abstract:

Located in the southern Siberian region of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Buryat is the third largest autonomous republic in Russia after the Republic of Saha and the Republic of Komi. The political structure of the Far East Federal Administrative Area, the economic structure of the Far East Economic Area, is located within the border of Buryatya, in the southern parts of Eastern Siberia and north of Mongolia. Buryatya is a bridge between Siberia and Central Asia, Europe and the Far East, the Arctic Region and the Tibetan Plateau, the Pacific coastline and the Atlas coastline, and is located in the field of cultural, economic and political competition of the Mongolian and Chinese civilizations, the Slavic world and the Turkish world. In other words, the territory of Buryatya has been in the area of interaction of the Russians, Chinese, Mongolians and Turkish communities for centuries. Today’s multicultural and multiethnic demographic structure observed in Buryatya, as well as human tourism resources belonging to different cultures and different beliefs, reflect the traces of this interaction. Buryatya, which is dominated by floors covered by frozen lands, as well as mountainous, forest and curved lands, is one of the coldest, most vulnerable and most populated republics in Russia. Despite all these geographical disadvantages, Buryatya is one of the republics with its rich natural resources, its widespread Tayga forests, its hundreds of lakes and flowers, its hundreds of health, cultural and religious centers, its numerous castles, museums and conservation areas, one of Russia’s richest tourist resources. Because in our country there is a few scientific research related to the tourism geography of Buryatya, the priority of this article is to introduce the tourism resources of Buryatya and the tourism potential to the Turkish readers. In terms of tourism diversity and tourism resources, the fact that Buryatya is the most interesting and unusual Republic of Russia, as well as having a number of unique natural and historical-cultural tourism centers, is one of the main reasons for this study to be pened.
