Abstract:

The aim of this study is to understand and explain the processes of the work permit of immigrants in the framework of the Istanbul sample. The sample of the study was made by 825 migrants who applied to a private consultancy company operating in Istanbul between 2012-2019. The information collected by the research company covers the demographic information of immigrants and work permit applications. The data was studied using the SPSS package program and obtained a general perspective on the work permit processes of migrants. The migration policy of Turkey, which determines the legal work universe of migrants, is also integrated and the processes of obtaining work permits for migrants have been explained. One of the significant findings of the study is that legal studies are becoming increasingly important among immigrants and are more common in Istanbul, especially among immigrant women. Another important result of the study is that the application for work permit is focused on the service sector.
