Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to identify the thoughts of class teacher candidates about the concept of activity. The study group of the research in which the status study method is used from the quality research patterns consists of 15 teachers candidates who are studied in the fourth class of a university’s class teaching bachelor’s program and selected with a easily accessible status sample. In the study, a semi-configured conversation form developed to collect data was used. The conversations with the teacher candidates were later recorded with the audio recording device in order to be transcribed. Written texts obtained from transcripts were analyzed using content analysis and codes were extracted. According to the findings obtained from the research, the class teacher candidates who expressed they have received different lessons about the concept of activity in general were not sufficient in addition to showing their perceptions and thoughts about the concept of activity in a variety of ways. In this regard, it is considered important that candidates frequently participate in practical studies containing activities, especially in teaching courses included in the bachelor’s program.
