Abstract:

This research was conducted to determine the effect of emotional intelligence and personality traits of nurses on organizational citizenship behavior. The research universe consists of 150 nurses working at Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital. The survey method was used as a data collection tool in the research. In the study, "Rotterdam Emotional Intelligence Scale", "A and B Type Personality Characteristics Scale" and "Organizational Citizenship Behavior Scale" were used. When examined as a result of the research, it is seen that while there is a weak positive relationship between Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Emotional Intelligence of nurses, personality typologies are not in a significant relationship with both emotional intelligence and organizational citizenship behavior. However, it is seen that the personality typologies of nurses are in a positive relationship with self-oriented emotion evaluation and negative with others-oriented emotion evaluation, which is one of the sub-dimensions of the emotional intelligence scale.
