Abstract:

In terms of providing the necessary data to the planners, the determination of the behaviors and trends that individuals have done in their leisure time, the user preferences and the adequacy of use in terms of recreational areas and activities, the level of participation in recreational activities, the planning of recreational areas, and the importance of recreational activities. In the study, the recreational demands and trends of the people in the Erzurum city center were tried to be determined by an survey of 400 participants. The city’s expectations of green spaces and the level of awareness of the importance of green spaces have been revealed. The majority of the survey participants are students aged 19 to 23 years, who continue to study at the university. In the surveys carried out in neighborhoods in order to determine the socio-cultural structure, individuals living in 4 rooms, apartment-type houses, comprised of 3-4 people, are intense involved in the surveys. When the answers given to the survey were evaluated, it was determined that individual characteristics and socio-cultural characteristics are important in the shaping of recreational behavior.
