Abstract:

Mevlana Abdürreşit Cevheri (1305/1926-1377/1999) is not sufficiently a well-known poet and writer, nevertheless, he occupies an important place in Afghanistan Uzbek literature. There is not comprehensive information about his life and literary works in the sources. And acquired information are in different sources in a scattered way. In this research, we inquired more extensive knowledge about his life, which is based on his literary works. Cevheri started learning at the each of 4-5 years old. Beaside the Arabic (morphology and syntax) knowledge, he has interested to poetry and literature. His childhood poems known has Emini. But have not his childhood poems, because of ware during that time. His poetry subjects was includes religious, politics, social, cultural and education subjects. Among these subjects, in his poems are showed the patriotism, the sense of being away from his homeland, the desire of returning home and the joy of returning home his poetry, because he was a migrant for large portion of his life. İf Mevlana Abdürreşit Cevheri had formed twenty works, only six works would have met readers. We can say that Cevheri was a productive poet and writer. In Afghanistan, there is no separate topic about Mevlana Abdürreşit Cevheri. We conducted research with the review Cevheri’s life and works and tried to explained how he defined patriotism and the sense of being away from your homeland were. This research is first comprehensive publication about him and it will contribute to studies on literature.
