Cystic echninococcosis (CE) is a helmintho-zoonosis caused by metacestode form of Echinococcus granulosus. At the present study, anti-Echinococ antibodies were investigated using whole protoscolex, cross-section of protoscolex and germinal membrane cross-section antigens by IFAT and also by ELISA in 20 samples with CE proved by operation, 20 samples of patients infected with Taenia saginata, 6 samples of patients infected with Hymenolepis nana and 10 samples as controls. Specificity and sensitivity of each test was calculated and they were found for IFAT as follow; for germinal membrane specificity 100%, sensitivity 100%, for whole protoscolex specificity 80%, sensitivity 95% and for crosssection protoscolex specificity 97% and sensitivity 100%. Commercial ELISA kit’s specificity and sensitivity were also obtained as %70 and 100% respectively. These results indicate IFAT antigens prepared with these three methods could be used for the diagnosis of human CE. Uses of germinal membrane cross-section antigens could be more useful than others in IFAT, for it is easier to prepare and there is no cross-reaction seen
