The literature of the Gagauz Turks is at a disadvantage in terms of recognition within the Turkish literature fields. Both their late adoption of their own alphabets and the late formation of the written-literary language are effective in this. It may be possible to claim that this low degree of recognition is affected by several factors such as relatively late literary connections with these countries and the Turkish communities as well as ill-ranking in Turkey for the Turkish literatures outside the country, especially in language and literature fields. 42 of 214 poems in Gagauz Poet Valentina Bujilova’s Soluyan Sözlär [Breathing Words] are for children. This number indicates a noteworthy literary work for the promotion of Gagauz’ children’s literature in Turkey. The artist studied philology, taught Gagauzian language and Russian throughout her life, worked as a textbook writer, and was deemed worthy of many awards. As in all of her poems, three elements, "faith, love and child" come to the fore in her poems for children. It can easily be seen that "love" is the dominant factor. Another feature is that her poems are not stuck in a narrow conceptual world; It is written in a wide range of meaning from insects to birds, friendship to knowledge. The clear and fluent use of Gagauzian language and its rich vocabulary place an important role in her poems for children. Her poems for children generally coincide with the “principle of child-appropriateness”, thanks to her life that was spent within education.
