Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul öğrencilerinin yabancı dillere, özellikle İngilizceye yönelik tutumları ile kişilik özellikleri arasındaki ilişki incelenmektedir. Araştırmanın evreni, 2015-2016 Eğitim-Öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Van İli Merkez İlçelerinde (Edremit, İpekyolu, Tuşba) bulunan devlet okulları bünyesinde öğrenimlerine devam eden ortaokul öğrencileri oluşturacaktır Evreni temsilen, 800 ortaokul 7. ve 8. Sınıf öğrencileri uygun örnekleme ile seçilmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri, “On-Maddeli Kişilik Ölçeği” ve “Yabancı Dil Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılarak toplanmış ve elde edilen veriler betimleyici ve parametrik testlerle çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, Sonuç olarak uygulanan analizler sonucunda, gruplar arasında anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu ve kişilik özelliklerinin yabancı dil öğrenme üzerinde önemli bir etkiye sahip olduğu kalıcı olduğu bulgular sonucunda ortaya konulmuştur.
The aim of this study is to study the relationship between the attitudes of high school students to foreign languages, especially English, and personality characteristics. The universe of research, 2015-2016 Education-Teaching year in the spring period will form high school students who will continue their studies within the state schools located in the central districts of Van Ili (Edremit, Ipekyolu, Tuşba) represented the universe, 800 high school 7 and 8. The students are selected with the appropriate sample. The data of the study was collected using "On-Made Personality Scale" and "Foreign Language Attitude Scale" and the data obtained was analyzed with imaging and parametric tests. The results of the research, the results of the analyses applied as a result, found that there were significant differences between groups and the findings that personality characteristics have a significant influence on foreign language learning.
