Destekleme ve yetiştirme kurslarıyla ilgili katılımcı öğrencilerin görüşlerinin tespitinin amaçlandığı bu çalışmaya, 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılında Türkiye’nin Orta Karadeniz Bölgesinde bulunan iki ildeki 4 ortaokuldan toplam 119 sekizinci sınıf öğrencisi katılmıştır. Katılımcı öğrencilerin ailelerinin ekonomik olarak orta ve düşük gelirli oldukları ve öğrencilerin neredeyse tamamının sadece okulda yürütülen destekleme kursları yardımıyla TEOG sınavlarına hazırlandıkları söylenebilir. Nitel araştırma yaklaşımlarından betimsel tarama yöntemiyle yürütülen bu araştırmayla elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Buna göre, öğrenciler kurslarla normal dersler arasında öğretmenlerinin ders anlatımı bakımından fark olmadığını belirtmişlerdir. En çok tercih edilen dersler Matematik, Türkçe ve İngilizce olup, öğrencilerin kursların sınav başarılarında etkili olduğunu düşünmeleri ve kursların ücretli olması durumunda kursa devam edeceklerini belirtmeleri de araştırmada elde edilen önemli bulgulardandır. Araştırmada ortaya çıkan sonuçların idareciler, öğretmenler ve veliler için kursların daha etkili bir şekilde yürütülebilmesi ve eksikliklerin giderilebilmesi için yol gösterici olacağı düşünülmektedir.
This study, which aims to identify the opinions of the participating students regarding support and training courses, has been attended by a total of 119 eighth class students from 4 high schools in two provinces located in the Middle Black Sea Region of Turkey in the 2016-2017 educational year. It can be said that the families of the participating students are economically medium and low-income, and that almost all of the students are prepared for the TEOG exams only with the help of support courses carried out in the school. The data obtained by this research, conducted by the visual scan method from the quality research approaches, were analyzed by the content analysis method. Accordingly, students have noted that there is no difference between the courses and the normal courses in terms of teaching. The most popular courses are Mathematics, Turkish and English, and the important findings in the research are that students think the courses are effective in the exam success and indicate that they will continue the course if the courses are paid. The findings in the study are believed to be a guide to the more efficient conduct of courses for administrators, teachers and guardians and to the removal of shortcomings.
