Vietnam-Amerika Savaşı sırasında ABD'ye karşı savaşan Vietnam Demokratik Cumhuriyeti, radyoyu savaş döneminde etkili bir propaganda aracı olarak kullanılmaktadır. Savaş sırasında Vietnamlı radyo spikeri Hanoi Hannah tarafından gerçekleştirilen radyo yayınları ile doğrudan Vietnam'da bulunan ABD askerleri hedef alınmaktaydı. Radyo yayınlarında ABD askerlerinin savaşma isteğinin azaltılması amaçlanmaktaydı. Bu süreçte radyo yayınları üzerinden çeşitli propaganda teknikleri kullanılarak, ABD askerlerinin savaşa devam etmemesi yönünde ikna edilmesine çalışılmaktaydı. Hannah Amerikan resmî propagandası tarafından gizlenen bir bölgede kaç Amerikan askerinin öldürüldüğünü, Amerikan askerî yayınlarına dayanarak radyo yayınlarında ayrıntısıyla açıklamaktaydı. Bu şekilde Hannah'ın radyo yayınları ABD propagandasının tek taraflı etkisini kırmaya çalışmaktaydı. Çalışmada Hannah'ın Amerikan hükümeti karşıtı propaganda radyo yayınları incelenerek, Vietnam-Amerika Savaşı sırasında Vietnam Demokratik Cumhuriyeti'nin hangi mesajlar üzerinden radyoyu propaganda amaçlı kullandığı ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla çalışmada Hannah'ın farklı dönemlerde ulaşılan radyo yayınları göstergebilimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmektedir. Elde edilen bulgularda, Hannah’ın radyo yayınlarında genel olarak korku içerikli mesajlar vererek ABD askerlerinin savaşmaması yönünde ikna edilmeye çalışıldığı saptanmıştır. Diğer yandan radyo yayınlarında ABD yönetiminin de eleştirilerek, ABD askerlerinin ABD yönetimine güvenini kaybetmesinin amaçlandığı görülmektedir.
The Democratic Republic of Vietnam, which fought against the United States during the Vietnam-American War, used radio as an effective propaganda tool during the war. During the war, the radio broadcasts of Vietnamese radio speaker Hanoi Hannah directly targeted U.S. soldiers in Vietnam. Radio broadcasts were aimed at reducing U.S. soldiers' willingness to fight. In this process, the radio broadcasts used various propaganda techniques to convince U.S. soldiers not to continue the war. Hannah described how many American soldiers were killed in an area hidden by American official propaganda, based on American military broadcasts in the radio broadcasts. In this way, Hannah’s radio broadcasts were trying to break the unilateral influence of U.S. propaganda. In the study, Hannah’s anti-American government propaganda radio broadcasts were studied, trying to figure out which messages the Vietnam Democratic Republic used radio for propaganda purposes during the Vietnam-American War. For this purpose, Hannah’s radio broadcasts achieved in different periods are studied using the indicative analysis method. The findings found that Hannah was trying to convince the U.S. soldiers not to fight by broadcasting fears in general on radio broadcasts. On the other hand, in radio broadcasts, the U.S. government is also criticized and it seems that the aim of U.S. soldiers is to lose confidence in the U.S. government.
The Democratic Republic of Vietnam which fought against the USA during the Vietnam-America War used the radio as an effective propaganda tool. The radio broadcasts of Vietnam radio announcer Hanoi Hannah were directly targeted at US soldiers in Vietnam. Radio broadcasts were aimed at reducing the willingness of US soldiers to fight. During this period, various propaganda techniques were used to convince US soldiers not to continue the war. In radio broadcasts, Hannah explained in detail how many American soldiers were killed in an area based on American military broadcasts. It was hidden by American official propaganda. In this way, Hannah's radio broadcasts tried to reduce the effect of USA propaganda. The study examined Hannah's anti-US government propaganda radio broadcasts during the Vietnam-America War. In the study, it was tried to explain the messages which the Democratic Republic of Vietnam used for the purpose of propaganda during the Vietnam-America War. For this purpose, Hannah's radio broadcasts in different periods were analyzed by using semiotic analysis method. According to the findings, it was found that Hannah's radio broadcasts generally gave horror messages in order to convince US soldiers not to fight. On the other hand, it was revealed that the US administration was also criticized in the radio broadcasts, so it was aimed to lower the trust of the US soldiers to the US administration.
