Abstract:

Introduction and Purpose: Percutaneous kidney biopsy is a secure method commonly used in the diagnosis and management of kidney diseases. The aim of our study is to evaluate the factors associated with the risk of bleeding in the processing of percutaneous kidney biopsy accompanied by the image. Method and Requirements: From May 2018 to December 2019, patients with a percutaneous kidney biopsy accompanied by ultrasound were retrospective scaned by directing to our initiative radiology clinic. The study included patients over the age of 18, with pre-operative ultrasound screening and postoperative pathological information available. Children under 18 years of age and kidney transplant biopsy have been dismissed. A total of 107 patients were involved in the study. 57 of the patients were male (53.3%), 50 were female (46.7%). The average age of patients was 47,8 ± 15,5. The patient’s pre-operative average Hb was 11.2 ± 1.7 mg/dl, while the postoperative average Hb was 11.1 ± 1.7 mg/dl. The average Hb decline in patients was 4.2%. There was no significant difference between the hemoglobin values before and after the treatment (p=0,864). There was no significant correlation between the decrease in hemoglobin values and the patient’s age (p=0,406), kidney size (p=0,814), parankimic ecogenity (p=0,175) and parankimic thickness (p=0,254). READ and RESULTS: Kidney biopsy accompanied by ultrasound is a method that can be used safely in the diagnosis of kidney diseases. Although the risk of bleeding is high, this risk can be reduced to the minimum by appropriate pre-operation assessment.
