Abstract:

Technology brings digital media with it, as well as affects the speed of change, its development and the process of its spread. In order to develop the skills that a person will need in a society with a digital environment, he needs to interact with technology and learn these methods. Electronics, computerized toys, online story and reading books, applications developed for computers, phones, tablets and game consoles have also influenced the use of digital materials and made them widespread. The motivating aspects of online games and applications, which have increased rapidly in recent times, can encourage challenges, cooperation, participation and help develop problem-solving strategies in order to facilitate one's learning. The environment built on the educational features of games can be used as a convenient way to enhance design and learning. Considering that design is an indispensable phenomenon in every stage of life, typography, one of the graphic design elements, is of great importance in the digital environment. The purpose of typography is to help the reader understand the text in the best possible way. The emphasis of typography in design should be designed correctly, in accordance with a specific purpose. In order to better understand the communication process in typography to be used in game design, many basic components such as distributing space by editing letters and checking the writing should be added and designed in accordance with the requirements. In this study, the effect of typography on design in digital games is examined.
