Bu çalışmanın amacı yeni iletişim teknolojileri ile iletişim sürecinde bir anlam aktarıcı olarak görev alan emojilerin siyasal iletişim sürecindeki kullanımını incelemektir. İletişim eyleminin başarısı, kaynak tarafından paylaşılan duygu ve düşüncelerin ve anlam aktarımının hedefteki iz düşümüne bağlıdır. Bu çerçevede iletişim teknolojileri anlamın doğru olarak aktarımında önemli bir işlev görmektedir. Buna ilaveten yeni iletişim araçları dolayısıyla farklı kültürlerin, farklı kesimlerin ve farklı dilleri kullanan insanların giderek birbirlerine daha da yakınlaştıkları da görülmektedir. Farklılıkların birbirlerine anlam aktarımı belli bir ortaklığı da gerekli kılmaktadır. Bu bağlamda beden dili küresel bir dil olarak anlam aktarımında önemli bir işlev görmektedir. Yeni iletişim teknolojileri üzerinden beden dilini kullanarak küresel bir dil oluşturmanın yeni aracını emojiler oluşturmaktadır. Söz konusu bu dil siyasal iletişim süreçlerinde hedef kitlelere uygun mesaj metinlerinin üretilmesi ve bunların uygun araçlarla desteklenmesinde de bir araç olarak tercih edilebilmektedir. Bu çalışma, temel olarak betimleyici bir çalışmadır. Çalışmada literatür taraması ve niceliksel içerik analizi yöntemi birlikte kullanılmış ve konu ile ilgili yapılmış çalışmalardan yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmanın temel varsayımı “siyasal iletişim sürecinde emojiler, ana mesajı destekleyici faydalı bir araçtır” şeklinde formüle edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda varsayımı destekleyici tespitler ortaya konulmuştur. Bu çerçevede siyasal iletişim süreçlerinde hedef kitlelere uygun mesaj metinlerinin üretilmesi ve bunların uygun araçlarla desteklenmesinde emojilerin de bir araç olarak tercih edilmesi, mesajlarda verilmek istenen anlamın doğru bir şekilde anlaşılmasına hizmet etmesi açısından önem arz ettiği değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır.
The aim of this study is to explore the use of emojis in the process of political communication, which serve as a translator of meaning in the process of new communication technologies and communication. The success of the communication action depends on the fall of the trace of the feelings and thoughts shared by the source and the purpose of meaning transfer. In this context, communication technologies play an important role in the correct transmission of meaning. In addition, the new means of communication also show that different cultures, different sections and people using different languages are becoming more and more closer to each other. Differences between each other make a certain partnership necessary. In this context, body language plays an important role in transmitting meaning as a global language. Emojis create a new tool for creating a global language using the body language through new communication technologies. This language can also be preferred as a tool in the processes of political communication in the production of text messages appropriate to the target audience and in their support by appropriate means. This work is basically an illustrative work. In the study, literature scan and quantitative content analysis method have been used together and the work on the subject has been used. The basic assumption of the study was formulated in the form of "emojis in the process of political communication are a useful tool that supports the main message." The study found supposedly supporting findings. In this framework, the political communication processes have been evaluated that the importance of the production of text messages appropriate to the target audience and their support by appropriate means is that the emojis are preferred as a tool, and that the meaning desired to be given in the messages is served to the proper understanding.
The purpose of this study is to examine the use of emojis, which act as a meaning transmitter in the communication process with new communication technologies, in the political communication process. The success of the communication action depends on the projection of the feelings and thoughts shared by the source and the transfer of meaning on the target. In this context, communication technologies play an important role in conveying meaning correctly. In addition, it is seen that different cultures, different segments and people using different languages are getting closer to each other due to new communication tools. The transfer of meaning of differences to each other also necessitates a certain partnership. In this context, body language plays an important role in transferring meaning as a global language. Emojis are the new tool of creating a global language by using body language through new communication technologies. This language can also be preferred as a tool to produce appropriate message texts for target audiences in political communication processes and to support them with appropriate tools. This study is basically a descriptive study. In the study, literature review and quantitative content analysis method were used together and studies on the subject were used. The basic assumption of the study was formulated as “emojis are a useful tool to support the main message in the political communication process”. As a result of the study, findings supporting the hypothesis were revealed. In this context, it has been evaluated that it is important to produce appropriate message texts for target audiences in political communication processes and to prefer emojis as a tool in supporting them with appropriate tools, in terms of serving to understand the meaning intended to be given in messages correctly.
