In Turkey, as in the world, the tourism sector is one of the important elements of the country’s economy. In Turkey, the share of tourism income in the non-clean national budget was 6.2 per cent in 2015, while the export rate of tourism was 21.9 per cent. According to the 2023 target, 50 million foreign tourists and 50 billion tourism revenues are aimed at achieving. Having regard to the current position and goals of Turkey in the tourism sector, it is necessary to increase the work on occupational health and safety in this sector, private and public organizations should give the necessary importance to this issue. Occupational health is an area where the identification of health problems in the work life and activities aimed at protecting the health of employees are included. The primary principle in work health is a protective approach. When the issues of the reports and complaints that appeal to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the problems arising in the research conducted towards this sector are evaluated together; the length of the working hours, the violation of interim break, the violation of weekly holiday leave, the conduct of national holidays and general holiday work without payments, the employment of unauthorized foreign workers, the registration exclusion are determined as priority risks. The entire staff of all organizations that provide tourism services must be provided with health education in basic matters such as basic hygiene rules, infectious diseases and protective methods, use of personal protective equipment (helds, glasses, sun protectors, hanging weight lifting, etc.) and each staff must take responsibility to protect his own health.
