Abstract:

27 Mayıs 1960’da Cumhuriyet tarihinin ilk askeri darbesi gerçekleşmiş ve mevcut iktidar devrilerek, tüm siyasi faaliyetler askıya alınmıştır. Milli Birlik Komitesi adıyla ülkede askeri yönetim kurulurken, sivil idareye geçişin kısa zamanda olacağı vurgulanmıştır. Nitekim söylendiği gibi Ekim 1961’de genel seçim yapılmış, ancak seçimden çıkan sonuç askeri memnun etmemiştir. Bu durum, ülkede var olan kaos ortamının orduya da sirayet etmesine ve ordu içinde birçok farklı grubun ortaya çıkmasına neden olmuştur. Bundan sonra İsmet İnönü’nün başkanlığını yaptığı üç ayrı koalisyon hükümeti kurulmuştur. Bu çalışmada 27 Mayıs’ın ardından, İnönü hükümetleri döneminde ülkenin siyasi gündemini meşgul eden birtakım önemli olaylar değerlendirilmeye çalışılacaktır.
