Abstract:

Entombed Saint and visiting belief continue its existence strongly in almost all provinces, districts and villages of Anatolia. There are eight-ten pcs of holy rock, tree or water place connected with Ground-Water culture result from Ancient Turkish beliefs in every village. There are many brierpatch and trees especially known as “çaputluçalı (brierpatch with cloth)” that a cloth or rag are tied on it by wishing. Thorn apple tree situated in left side of the entrance of Serinyayla village, is one them which is full with cloth pieces tied by wishing. There are many places being visited as a votive place in district and circle of Altınyayla. There are entombed saints connected with saint belief such as Coruğun Ocağı in center of Altınyayla, and Kusûrî (Gusuri) Baba, Arap Dede, Küpeli Dede in nearby villages, Alacahanlı Said Efendi and Kürtçüyurtlu Hacı Mehmed Efendi in Tahyurt village. In Karatonus mountain surrounding the southeast of Altınyayla, there is Kara Tonus entombed saint connected with mountain culture and Topakkaya entombed saint connected with stone culture. It is observed that grave and mausoleum especially of saint, holy person, Godfriendly, patriarch, veli, sheik, mentor, mullah, father and grandad connected with “veli culture” are extremely common.
