Abstract:

The aim of the study examined the concept of social iatrogenesis, inolved in Expropriation of Health by Ivan Illich, has been evaluated in the context of health system in Turkey and assesment of the the validity of social iatrogenesis via for the 81 provinces. In this direction, firstly, development plans have been examined in order to reveal the structure of the health system, and as a result of the examination, it has been seen that the fiscal incentive policies applied for health were used as the main policy tool. Accordingly, for 81 provinces,the distrubion of ten variables such as the total investment amount made in the health sector, the number of hospitals, the number of beds per person, the number of total and specialist physicians per person, the number of physician applications per person, medicine per, the level of drug use (DID), population and mortality rate and the socioeconomic development level of the provinces, was analyzed with cluster analysis. As a result, it has been concluded that the provinces were divided into four clusters and that the social iatrogenesis situation has been valid.
