Abstract:

The study aims to determine the level of application of smart technologies used by hotel businesses operating in Gaziantep and the level of perception of managers about the importance of these applications. Also, we have asked hotel managers' opinions about the possible advantages, potential obstacles, and expectations from the stakeholders that the hotel enterprises will provide in the smart hotel implementation process. Within the scope of the study, surveys and interviews have been conducted in 19 hotel enterprises. 1 12 of these hotels are 4 stars and 7 of them are 5 stars. The study has been carried out in November and December 2019. As a result of the study, it has been determined that a limited number of hotels in Gaziantep benefit from the smart hotel applications and that these hotels use smart technologies at the basic level. It has been found that this is due to high costs related to the application of smart technologies, inadequate technological infrastructure and feasibility difficulties. In this respect, It is commented that the hotel enterprises are not able to meet the requirements regarding smart hotel implementation due to the insufficient information, resources, and implementation of the stakeholders.
