Abstract:

Introduction: The nursing process is a systematic method used in determining and delivering the individual’s care needs to the solution. Purpose: This research was done with the aim of knowing the process of nursing while giving care and determining the conditions of application. Method: The universe of this study, which is a defining type, consisted of 151 nurses and 131 nurses. The data is collected using the "Personal Information Form" and the "Information and Application Level Identification Form for the Nursing Process". In the analysis of the data; number, percentage, average, Kruskal-Wallis Varyans, Mann-Whitney U and Correlation analysis were used. The findings: 77.9% of the nurses surveyed found themselves sufficient during the nursing process, 94. 7 of them have been determined that it is necessary to use the nursing process while taking care of the patient in the clinic. Many nurses found that they had problems in the data collection stage (36.6 percent) of the nursing process, while a few in the evaluation stage (8.5 percent). The average correct answer to the questions of nurses regarding their theoretical knowledge of the nursing process was 80.09±14.10, the average correct answer to the questions of the 3 examples prepared for application was 78.30±23.31. It has also been found that the nurses have a positive weak relationship (p<0,05) between the correct level of answers to information questions and the correct level of application questions. The result is that all the nurses have been determined to have sufficient knowledge of the process and practical conditions, but they have problems in the process’s multiple data collection phase. According to these results, the importance of the nursing process in nursing training during the course of study should be emphasized and it may be recommended to be supported by service-in-service training in the professional life.
