After the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, two times a multi-party transition attempt was made, but due to the closure of the parties shortly until 1950, the Republican People's Party continued to rule the country alone. Parallel to the conjuncture formed after the Second World War, significant changes in internal and foreign policy occurred in Turkey. The Democratic Party, which took its place on the political stage on January 7, 1946, came to power with the 1950 elections, and until the May 27 coup, it ruled the country alone. The DP, who won the three general elections in the course of a decade, did not show his success throughout the country in Kars and did not succeed in removing a parliamentary member from Kars. But in the 1950s elections, three people elected to parliament from Kars, Abbas Çetin, Veyis Koçulu and Latif Aküzüm, on 18 March 1952 resigned from the CHP and passed into the DP lines. The resignation of these three representatives remained on the agenda for a long time in the local and national press and polemics occurred through the press. Three Deputies who resigned, in the parliamentary elections of 1954 and 1957, entered the DP list of Kars, but in both elections they failed to enter the parliament. This study sought to provide information about the 1950 elections and the resignations of their parliamentarians, the press talks and the subsequent elections.
