Anti-T.gondii IgM ve IgG testleri chemiluminescent immunoassay yöntemiyle (Cobas e601, Roche Diagnostics, Almanya), IgG avidite testi enzyme-linked fluorescent assay yöntemiyle (VIDAS, bioMerieux, Fransa) çalışıldı.
Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic infectious disease that is widely seen throughout the world, caused by Toxoplasma gondii. This study aims to investigate T.gondii seroprevalence in different age groups in our region and evaluate the results of the IgG avidite test. The anti-T.gondii IgM and anti-T.gondii IgG tests, which were submitted to our hospital between January 2014 and December 2018, simultaneously examined the serological results of the desired patients retrospectively. Anti-T.gondii IgM and IgG tests were studied by chemiluminescent immunoassay method (Cobas e601, Roche Diagnostics, Germany), IgG avidite test by enzyme-linked fluorescent assay method (VIDAS, bioMerieux, France). A total of 5454 anti-T patients received the study. Gondii IgM and IgG seropositivity rates were 3.8% and 25.5% respectively. Seropositivity rates for IgM and IgG were determined at 4.7% and 26.8% respectively in women (n=3839) and 1.6% and 22.4% respectively in men (n=1615). IgG seropositivity was detected in the lowest 0-10 age group (11.1%), the highest >60 age group (55.4%). In 151 cases with IgG and IgM positive together, and in 125 cases with IgG positive, IgM negative, a test of authenticity was requested. The IgG avidite test found low avidite in 43 of the total 276 incidents (15.6 percent), low avidite in 18 (6.5 percent) and high avidite in 215 (77.9 percent). In approximately two-thirds of the symptoms with IgG and IgM positive together (66.2%), high avidity has been identified and previously passed as an infection. In our area, the anti-T.gondii IgG seropositivity rate was determined at 25.5%, and the IgG seropositivity rate increased with age. In cases where Anti-T.gondii IgM and IgG are positive together, the distinction of the previously passed infection with the IgG avidite test and acute infection is important for the correct diagnosis and treatment.
