Abstract:

Energy has become one of the basic needs since the beginning of human existence. Increasing demand for energy has raised its importance. Because of this States have been struggling with each other to possess energy resources and to dominate them. Turkey is not selfsufficient country in terms of energy resources. Foreign dependency of Turkey due to increase in demand on energy has been increasing day by day in parallel with its rapid development. With which policy Turkey will be able to reduce its foreign dependence on energy?. Renewable energy resources in particular solar energy offer good potential for security of energy supply and for reducing Turkey’s dependency. In addition discovery of new resources, energy efficiency and use of the nuclear power are important instruments for security of energy supply
