Amaç – Kurumsal finansın önemli bir alanı olması ve kârlılığa etkilerinden dolayı çalışma sermayesinin etkin yönetimi şirketler açısından son derece önemlidir. Bu araştırma BİST’e kayıtlı şirketlerin çalışma sermayesi yönetimindeki etkinliklerini tespit etmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yöntem – Araştırmada 2009-2018 yılları arasında hisseleri borsada kesintisiz işlem gören 127 imalat şirketinin çeyrek dönem mali tablo verileriyle çalışma sermayesi etkinlik düzeyleri indeks yöntemiyle hesaplanmış, şirket ve sektör bazında betimsel analizleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulgular – Analiz sonuçlarında BİST imalat sektörünün dönen varlıklarını kullanarak satış yaratma kabiliyetinin en düşük olduğu dönemin 2017 yılının birinci çeyreği olduğu ve 2017 yılının dördüncü çeyreğinin ise sektörün dönen varlıklarını kullanarak satış yaratma kabiliyetlerinin en yüksek olduğu dönem olduğu görülmüştür. BİST imalat sektöründe çalışma sermayesi alt hesap gruplarının bireysel performanslarının en yüksek olduğu dönemin 2013 yılının birinci çeyreği, en düşük olduğu dönemin ise 2017 yılının ikinci çeyreği olduğu tespit edilmiştir. İmalat şirketlerinin etkinlik düzeylerinin sektörle karşılaştırmalı analizlerinde şirketlerin %45’inin sektörün üstünde, %4’ünün sektörle eşit, %51’nin ise sektörün altında bir başarı sergilediği görülmüştür. Tartışma – Araştırma sonuçları BİST’e kayıtlı imalat şirketlerinin incelenen dönemlerin genelinde çalışma sermayelerini etkin yönetme noktasında başarılı olduklarını göstermiştir.
Purpose - Effective management of employment capital is extremely important for companies because it is an important field of corporate finance and its impact on profitability. This research was carried out in order to identify the activities of companies registered in the BIST in the management of employment capital. Method - In the study between 2009-2018 years, 127 manufacturing companies, which were treated on the stock exchange without interruption with quarter-term financial tables data, work capital activity levels were calculated by index method, company and industry-based visual analysis was carried out. Results - Analysis finds that the period in which the BIST manufacturing sector has the lowest capacity to create sales using its returning assets is the first quarter of 2017 and the fourth quarter of 2017 is the period in which the industry has the highest capacity to create sales using its returning assets. The first quarter of the period in which the individual performance of the under-account groups of the work capital in the manufacturing sector was highest, the lowest period was the second quarter of the year 2017. In the comparative analysis of the performance levels of manufacturing companies with the sector, 45% of companies were above the sector, 4% equal to the sector and 51% under the sector. Discussions - Research results have shown that manufacturing companies registered in BIST have succeeded in effectively managing their work capital throughout the periods examined.
