Amaç: Bu çalışma, tekerlekli sandalye basketbol sporcularında omuz bölgesine uygulanan kinezyo bant uygulamasının kas kuvveti üzerine etkisinin incelenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yöntem: Araştırmaya TSK Karagücü tekerlekli sandalye basketbol takımında yer alan 12 erkek sporcu dahil edilmiştir. Deneklerin yaş ortalaması 31,17±7,90 yıl, vücut kitle indeksi ortalaması 25,41±6,96 kg/cm2’dir. Bireyler deltoid kasına ve omuza uygulanan kombine kinezyo bantlama öncesi ve sonrasında değerlendirildi. Deltoid kası üzerine kas fasilitasyon tekniği uygulandı. Deneklerin omuz bölgesine ait deltoid kasına izokinetik ölçümleri Cybex NORM izokinetik dinamometre ile yapıldı. İzokinetik ölçümler için dominant omuzun fleksiyon ve abdüksiyon hareketlerine bakıldı. Ölçümler kinezyo bant uygulanmadan önce ve uygulandıktan sonra tekrarlandı. İzokinetik ölçümlerde 60o/sn 5 tekrar ve 180o/sn 10 tekrar izokinetik omuz kuvveti testi uygulandı. Pik tork ve toplam iş hesaplandı. Verilerin istatistiksel analizinde SPSS for Windows 25.0 paket programı kullanıldı. Ön-son test karşılaştırılmasında Wilcoxon testi uygulanmıştır. Anlamlılık düzeyi 0,05 olarak kabul edildi. Sonuçlar: Çalışmanın sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde, tüm bireylerin dominant ve nondominant taraflarında 60o/sn ve 180o/sn'deki fleksiyon ve abdüksiyon tepe tork ve toplam iş değerlerinde bantlama sonrası lehine artış bulundu (p<0,05). Tartışma: Omuz bölgesine uygulanan kinezyo bant uygulamasının tekerlekli sandalye basketbol sporcuların izokinetik olarak ölçülen kas kuvvetini olumlu yönde etkilediği belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışma kinezyo bant uygulamasının kas kuvvetini desteklemek amacıyla kullanılabileceğini göstermektedir.
Purpose: This study was carried out in order to study the impact of kinesium bands applied to the shoulder area in wheelchair basketball athletes on muscle strength. Method: The research included 12 male athletes in the TSK Karagücü wheelchair basketball team. The average age of the subjects is 31.17±7.90 years, the average body mass index is 25.41±6.96 kg/cm2. Individuals were evaluated before and after the combined kinesium bandage applied to the deltoid muscle and shoulder. The technique of muscle facilitation on the deltoid muscle was applied. The isochinetic measurements of the deltoid muscle in the shoulder area of the examiners were performed using the Cybex NORM isochinetic dynamometer. For isochinetic measurements, the dominant shoulder’s flektion and abduction movements were looked at. The measurements were repeated before and after application of the kinesium band. The isochinetic measurements were tested 60o/s 5 repeated and 180o/s 10 repeated isochinetic shoulders. Pik tork and the total work are calculated. The statistical analysis of the data used the SPSS for Windows 25.0 package program. In comparison with the previous test, the Wilcoxon test was applied. The level of meaning was accepted as 0.05. Results: When the results of the study were evaluated, all individuals found a rise in the flections and abductions of 60o/s and 180o/s on the dominant and nondominant sides and in the total work values (p<0,05). Discussions: The application of the kinesium band applied to the shoulder area has been determined to have a positive impact on the muscle strength isocinetically measured by the wheelchair basketball athletes. This study shows that kinesium band application can be used to support muscle strength.
Purpose: This research aims to determine the effect of kinesiotaping application on wheelchair basketball players’ shoulders. Methods: A total of twelve wheelchair basketball players from TSK Karagücü team were involved in this research. The average age of the subjects was 31.17±7.90 years and mean body mass index was 25.41±6.96 kg/cm2. Subjects were assessed before and after combined kinesiotape application on deltoideus muscle. Muscle facilitation technique was applied to deltoideus muscle. Isokinetic parameters of the subjects’ shoulder joints were measured with Cybex NORM isokinetic dynamometer. It was taken the dominant shoulders' flexion and abduction movements into consideration for the isokinetic measurements. Measurements were repeated before and after kinesiotape applications. In isokinetic measurement, 5 repetitions at 60°/sec and 10 repetitions at 180°/sec for shoulder's muscle strength were performed. Peak torques and total works were calculated. In statistical analyses of the data, SPSS for Windows 25.0 packet program was used. Wilcoxon Test was performed in the pretest and posttest comparisons. The results were evaluated in 0.05 precision. Results: After the evaluation of the study, an increase of the peak torques, and total works have been found out of all the players’ dominant and non-dominant shoulders’ flexions and abductions at 60o/sec and 180o/sec in favor of the kinesiotaping application (p<0.05). Conclusion: It’s determined that the kinesiotape application on the shoulders of the wheelchair basketball players has positive effects on the isokinetic muscle strength of these players. This study has shown that the kinesiotaping application can be used to support muscle strength.
