Purpose: The different muscle-skeletal system pain has been done to assess the impact of some sociodemographic and cultural characteristics on pain perception and pain severity, and to determine some characteristics related to pain. Method: Recording the demographic information and socio-cultural characteristics of all participants; Scandinavian muscle-skeletal questionnaire form and McGill pain scale short form were used to assess pain perception and pain severity. Results: The study included 544 (40,74±14,53) cases, including 372 women and 172 men, with subacute and chronic muscle-skeletal system pain from 9 different areas. When sociocultural factors were studied on pain severity and the effect on pain perception (emotional and perceptive dimensions), the study state increased, the pain severity and the pain perception decreased, the pain severity of the participants living in the village was increased. The severity of the pain and the sensation of the pain are higher in women individuals, while it has been determined to increase with age. When the relationship between the pain severity of the participants and the pain perception was studied, a relationship between the pain severity and the sensory pain perception was found to be high in the positive direction, a medium-level relationship between the sensory dimension. A high relationship in the positive direction between the emotional and perceptive dimensions of pain has been detected. The result: There are evidence that individuals are affected by chronic pain experience and pain perception levels, social and cultural characteristics. While the treatment is planned in pain relief, taking into account the socio-cultural characteristics of individuals can contribute to the effectiveness of the treatment.
