Bu çalışma, arazi gözlemleri, herbaryum araştırmaları, taksonomik literatür, morfoloji ve palinoloji analizleri ışığında Türkiye'deki doğal olarak yetişen I. attica, I. carica ve I. spruneri taksonlarının morfolojisi ve taksonomisi hakkında önemli sonuçlar sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, I. carnosa türünün Türkiye'deki varlığı sorgulanmakta, literatürde I. carnosa’nın sinonimleri olarak geçen I. attica ve I. spruneri türlerinin varlığı ve ayrım karakterleri hakkında kanıtlar ortaya konmaktadır.
This study provides important results on the morphology and taxonomy of I. attica, I. carica and I. spruneri taxons that grow naturally in Turkey in the light of land observations, herbaryum research, taxonomic literature, morphology and palinology analysis. In this study, the existence of the I. carnosa species in Turkey is questioned, and in literature, evidence of the existence and distinctive characteristics of the I. attica and I. spruneri species, which are synonymous with the I. carnosa. It is also mentioned about the similar and distinctive characteristics of the I. attica and endemic I. carica species that are often mixed with each other. This study confirmed that the I. carica species was re-discovered 112 years later and that the species was only grown in the type location, and that it was collected from the Egean and Mediterranean regions. All the plants diagnosed as carica are known as I. attica. The Turkish name "Mor beğendiotu" attributed to I. carnosa was translated to I. attica with this work, and the author for I. spruneri was "Mountain beğendiotu", endemic I. saxatilis subsp. For magnesiana, the Turkish name "Manisa hünkarbeğendiotu" was suggested. This study also aims to provide a morphological basis for studies that may be done later on gender.
