Budizm tarihi geçmişi 2500 yıl öncesine dayanan ve Hindistan’dan başlayarak Çin, Kore, Japonya dahil uzak doğuda birçok ülkeyi kapsayan bir yaşam felsefesi ve bir dindir. Kurucusu Sidhartha Guatama Kuzey Hindistan’da Sakyalıların Prensi iken yaşamdan elini eteğini çekerek Budalık mertebesine erişmiş ve ölene kadar öğretilerini yaymaya devam etmiştir. Ölümünden sonra takipçileri dini ritüelleri gerçekleştirmek için heykeller, semboller ve tapınaklar yapmışlardır. Dini sanat açısında son derece zengin bir coğrafya olan Hindistan’da ortaya çıkması Hinduizm’le bazı ortak inanç ve sembollerin oluşmasına neden olsa bile zamanla Budizm’in kendi biçim anlayışı ve metaforları oluşmuştur. Buda heykelleri temelde belli konuları ve hareketleri içeren ve ikonografik açıdan çözümlenebilen geştaltlar oluşturulmaktadır. Belli jestlerin, objelerin ve duruşların ne anlama geldiği bazı detaylar ya da efsaneleri bilince çözümlenebilmektedir. Bu araştırma da günümüzde tüm uzak doğu ülkelerinde ve 20. yüzyıldan sonra da Batı’da takip edilen Buda’nın yaygın olarak görülen heykel ve sembolleri irdelenerek genel bilgi ve bakış açısı sağlamak amaçlanmaktadır.

Abstract:

The history of Buddhism is a philosophy of life and a religion that dates back to 2500 years ago and covers many countries in the Far East, including China, Korea, Japan, starting from India. His founder, Sidhartha Guatama, reached the Buddhist staircase by pulling his hand out of life while the Prince of the Sakyan in northern India and continued to spread his teachings until he died. After his death, his followers made statues, symbols and temples to perform religious rituals. The appearance in India, which is a very rich geography in the religious art, even though it has led to the formation of some common beliefs and symbols with Hinduism, with time the Buddhism has formed its own form concepts and metaphors. The Buddha statues are basically created by ghettoes that contain certain topics and movements and can be resolved from an iconographic point of view. Certain details or legends of what certain gestures, objects and attitudes mean can be resolved by consciousness. This research also aims to provide a general knowledge and perspective by reaping the widely seen statues and symbols of Buddha, followed in all the far east countries today and in the west after the 20th century.
