Abstract:

The assessment of the reading errors and understanding skills of listening losers who experience a delay in language skills is of importance in terms of the planning of teaching practices by determining the needs of students. The purpose of this research is to study the reading errors and understanding skills of the listening losses of the cocklear implant user in the welding environment. In the study, a model was used. The study was conducted by a 3-8-class cocktail implant user of 15 students in the coating environment. As a data collection tool in the study, the student information form, the stories and evaluation forms included in the Non-Formal Reading Inventory were used. The research data has been visually analyzed. The study found that cocklear implanted students were able to use the information about the language’s clue systems, that they were able to make read errors similar to their normal listening colleagues at the educational reading level, replace, extract, add, repeated errors and complex errors, that the number of errors was not reflected in the point of telling and answering questions, but changed the meaning of the errors. Based on the research findings, students with coclear implants in the coating environment can be said that they need support training to correct reading errors, tell what they read and answer questions to the relationships.
