Abstract:

With the worsening of competition conditions in the tourism sector and the multiplication of similar destinations, tourism managers have turned to different types of tourism. One of these types of tourism is medical tourism. In recent years, medical tourism, which has had an important role in the preference of destinations, is progressing in the way to become a valuable tourism variety, especially in terms of Turkey. In the preference of foreign tourists, medical tourism has begun to acquire an important place. The main objective of the study is to reveal why medical tourism is important in the selection of destinations and to present medical tourism determiners in the destination preferences. The study aims to reveal why tourists use a variety of medical tourism in determining their destination preferences. In this context, the method of quality data collection was used in the study. Recent research on medical tourism has been collected in recent years. In the selection of the destination, tourists have come to the conclusion that they are interested in health care fees, vacation facilities, the quality of health care services and other tourist attractions. The aim of the study is to guide the knowledge obtained with the quality data to academics who will study on this subject in the future. The increasing importance of medical tourism in recent years has been highlighted by the importance of destinations, the importance of cooperation between tourism managers and the health sector. The cooperation of the health and tourism sector and medical tourism is likely to create tourism demand throughout the country.
