Abstract:

Today, linguistic orthodontics has significantly increased its popularity as the only treatment option that is truly invisible with the increase in the aesthetic expectations of patients. Lingual orthodontic therapy is less noticeable when compared to labial orthodontic therapy, as well as the fewer incidence of white point injury. In the clinical examination of the adult female patient who had previously been treated with labial orthodontics and advanced therapy, 1/3 unit angle class II malocluzyon was detected on the left, light on the upper edge, mid-intensity interference on the lower edge and increased overjet. The patient’s aesthetic expectation is high, the detection of white point injury, the great advantage of turning control during treatment and the predictable result, the ideal closing relationship has been achieved with the use of individual-specially produced lingual brakes, arc wire (WIN, DW Lingual Systems, Bad Essen, Germany) and class II elastic. In addition to its successful use in the treatment of all maloclusions, Lingual orthodontic therapy is an ideal option for the treatment of patients with a high aesthetic expectation and anxiety, who have previously received labial orthodontic therapy.
